Emerging Leaders

Every new or emerging business leader we meet feels very alone.

Why does this Emerging Leaders Program Work?

  • Quite simply internal mentorship programs do not– Mentors are experts, for sure, but they often have their own responsibilities, are very busy, and some just are not capable of providing a clear and logical explanation of "why" or "how" they do what the do to make themselves successful.
  • This program is NOT Consulting  – The coach may have technical or functional expertise, but we are there to be used as an answer person, an extra pair of hands or a bolster for a weak leader. The program is designed to have executives think through and tackle their own problems. Self-reliance, not dependency, is the goal.
  • The program focuses on a specific way of learning – The more an individual is involved in identifying problems, in working out and applying solutions for them and in reviewing results, the more complete and the more long-lasting the learning is. This form of self-improvement tends to bring about learning with a deeper understanding than learning that is taught. Given the right circumstances, one-on-one interaction with an objective third party, who is not tied to the organization or other executive or company influences, can provide a focus that other forms of organizational support cannot. Coaching develops the leader in “real time” within the context of their current job while allowing them to maintain their day-to-day responsibilities.
  • The program provides competitive advantage – In today's competitive market time is of the essence. Savings of time is vitally important. We get leaders putting knowledge to practice immediately.

Why would I want to participate in this program?
Life as an emerging leader has many rewards but it can be lonely, frustrating, and uncertain. This program provides:

  • Relief from Isolation – A trusted support mechanism with which to share your concerns, discuss weaknesses, and ask those questions you can’t ask others.
  • A Sounding Board – Nothing will test an idea quite like talking it through with someone outside the your area with no alternative agenda and getting honest feedback.
  • Proven Benefits – The benefits of having a formal development program lead by a coach creates tangible and intangible benefits. the extent to how much varies on the individual, but guarantees can be made. However that being said, it does require commitment and action.
  • If you do not do this; your competition will –In today's competitive market leaders need to stay sharp.  You may have an edge, but do you have what it takes to stay sharp?

Every new or emerging manager, leader, or executive feel they are carrying a burden  of expectation and often don’t have anyone to talk to about the challenges they’re facing.

Research shows that the maturation process for an emerging leader can sometimes take 3-4 years. During that 3-4 year learning and maturation process, unfortunately, the new leader makes numerous learning mistakes such as by trial and error or following a mentor with some less than admirable personal and professional traits and in the end struggles to gain confidence.

Wouldn’t it be great if you had a guarantee that you could make that newly promoted manager or leader a top performer in 12-15 months?

There is a better alternative available.

Consider the Emerging Leaders Executive Development Program led by Rick Unruh certified coach and adult educator as the solution to this challenge.

The development program includes recurring coaching sessions between the Emerging Leader and the Executive Business Coach. Early in the program, the Emerging Leader and Coach meet frequently, anywhere from twice, three, or four sessions a month (whichever fits your financial and time budgets best). As the program begins to gain momentum the recurring sessions are spaced further apart, giving the emerging leader more time to put into practice the best practices that they’ve learned.

At Q6 Performance Coaching, our coaching philosophy is to outfit each client as a leader so that they can proactively and confidently solve business problems by themselves. We encourage them to build upon their strengths and gain confidence so that they can emerge as fine leaders within a 12 month period, rather than a 3-4 year process. We coach each of the Emerging Leaders in 10 key areas of business, and supply them with training, education, tools, and best practices in each area. The 10 areas are: Sales, Marketing, Leadership, Strategic Planning, Financial Management, Human Resources, Customer Service, Business Systems/Operations, Coaching & Succession Planning, and Personal Effectiveness

Each coaching program begins with an Extended DISC behavior analysis assessment and a Strengths Finder 2.0 assessment designed to accomplish two things:

Significantly increase the self-awareness of the Emerging Leader's own personal behavior style and their comfort zones, strengths, and weaknesses.
The ability to begin to very quickly recognize the behavior styles and potential strengths of the people that they live and work with, allowing them to adjust their strategy and tactics based upon situations, in working with others. This ensures that they are able to communicate much more clearly and effectively, develop winning teams, and work with others in a way that feels right to the other person(s), making for significantly greater effectiveness in working as a team.

Leaders must become life-long learners, and we incorporate a healthy amount of self-directed study, reflection, and information sharing into our Emerging Leader Program. At one of the one on one coaching sessions the coach and the emerging leader discuss in detail the past period’s learnings, key takeaways, business concepts, and personal effectiveness status in an effort to ensure we’re also educating them with a curriculum to enhance skills in essential areas that align with the organization’s needs to develop a truly successful leader.
